Real Estate Mentor: Jim Lea

Jim Lea started out as a self-described "ski bum" turning his passion for the sport into a long-term career by identifying a niche for himself as a specialist in second home sales. He attributes the secret of his success to, "living the lifestyle I sell," an approach that has worked well for him over the past 28 years: Jim and his partner's total volume in 2005 was $43.6 million on 73 transactions.

Jim moved to Park City, Utah, in 1975 and began selling real estate in 1977. He started in the business by sitting open house for three years on a large condominium project. As a testament to the power of the enduring relationships he builds, he still works with many of the clients he met back then, not to mention the many referrals he’s received from these folks.

Over the years Jim has developed a terrific rapport with fellow Realtors in his area. In addition to a high level of respect, he frequently receives referrals from other agents in his market, and even former agents. He has twice served as president of his local Board of Realtors and has been honored as Realtor of the Year. Jim also enjoys taking an active role as a member of numerous local community organizations.
