A New York city native, John Mejia served as an officer in the U.S. Navy and later became an airline pilot, before circumstances led to him considering real estate as the next step in his career path.
Aggressive in his pursuit of excellence, John studied for and obtained his license in a month, then worked for the company RealtySouth for 6 ½ months as a rookie.
Doggedly pursuing FSBO’s and Expireds, John’s persistence paid off and he began being able to close 2 to 3 transactions a month.
6 months later he felt confident enough to challenge himself again, and made the bold move to join RE/MAX.
There he began to flourish, and within the year, he garnered the title Rookie of the Year. At the end of his first full year in real estate, he sold almost $7Million in gross sales.
In 2005 and 2006 he continued honing his skills and closed out the year with over $11 million in gross sales, putting him in the top one percent of agents in the city, as well as making him the number one agent in his office in transactions.
In 2007, John decided to take the ultimate challenge, and left RE/MAX to start his own company, “Providence Real Estate”.
As broker-owner, John has plans to grow his business with same passion and success he’s experienced as an agent, all while maintaining his professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to really helpinghis clients.
